Experience the advanced capabilities of the AMS/CHMER AD5LS, a high-speed CNC EDM Hole Driller renowned for its versatility and precision. This machine is configurable with up to six axes and often features a 10 or 20-position automatic electrode changer with corresponding guide changers, enhancing its functionality for complex drilling tasks. Utilizing water as a dielectric medium, the AD5LS supports an electrode diameter range from .008 to .236 inches, enabling a wide variety of machining tasks, including the creation of non-circular holes such as conical and expanding square or rectangular shapes.
Designed to excel in challenging applications, the AD5LS incorporates innovative "Soft Start" and "Breakthrough" burning technologies, allowing for precise machining in the X and Y axes. Its 3D shape machining software, initially developed for creating cooling holes in jet engines and gas turbines, has been expanded to accommodate full micro EDM machining capabilities.
The machine's sophisticated 6-axis CNC control system manages the X, Y, Z, A, B, and W axes (with A and B being optional), streamlining the programming process. This setup eliminates the need for an auxiliary CNC control box, simplifying operations. The integration of rotary A and B axes, which rotate and tilt the workpiece respectively, provides exceptional flexibility and precision, making the AMS/CHMER AD5LS an ideal solution for industries requiring advanced machining technology that delivers both high performance and intricate detailing.
