OMAX Solids Removal System Best Practices: When to Run It and How to Prevent Clogs

Solids Removal System (When to run it, and how to prevent clogs.)

You should always make it a habit to run the SRS whenever you can. Even if the

machine is not in use, it is important to let the SRS run to ensure that garnet doesn’t

build up in the SRS plumbing and around the SRS plumbing. This can be avoided by

running the SRS as often as and for as long as possible while being monitored.

  • The SRS system should run on Auto Run Mode while cutting parts. This mode

goes through the programmed cycle times for the modes different functions that

doesn’t aggressively remove a large amount of water during cycling.

  • The SRS System should run on Auto Clean Mode when Machine is Idle while

machine is not in use. This will put it in the more aggressive mode of cleaning

which removes a larger amount of water from the catcher tank.

  • The Forward and Reverse modes are used for attempting to unclog the slightly

clogged system.

  • You should develop a water only program in Layout/Make that uses water only to

agitate the settled garnet at the bottom of the tank. This programmed path should

run through the length of the table and back. You can configure the path however

you would like, if it goes the length of the table.
